Madison Blue Spring is located in nothern central Florida near the town of Lee and the border with Georgia. It is a rather new state park established around 2007.
The spring is a first magnitude level with crystal clear water spewing from a crevasse 25 feet below the spring pool's surface. The pool is approximately 82 feet wide and is formed by a limestone basin with high limestone walls.
The spring pool is located about 100 feet from the west bank of the northern Withlacoochee River and runs up stream into the the river just above a shoal. I came here to photograph and snorkel the spring. Beautiful setting.
