One of my favorite spots to watch the sunrise is at Makapu'u Lighthouse on the easternmost island of Oahu, Hawaii. The lighthouse was built in 1909. This location features breathtaking views from a sheer cliff and a prime location for watching Humpback whales as they travel the channel in December and April. In the final scenes of the 2004 film "50 First Dates" Adam Sandler kisses Drew Barrymore at the foot of this lighthouse.
