A "cupcake" is a small cake, about the size of a tea cup, designed to serve one person. As with larger cakes, it is commonly baked and frosting or other cake decorations are added to provide aesthetic decoration and typically a sweet taste to compliment the cake.
I have used cupcakes as a portrait theme and also as a gift presentation to capture the heart a special lady. I was told that "Cupcakes are a way to a girl's heart".
I wanted to learn how to make a cupcake as a way to advance my cooking skills.
I called upon, Cindy Sue, the owner of Cupcakes on Main located in Titusville, Florida to teach me. Cindy invited me to join her in her bakery as an apprentice for a day.
I learned the importance of having two base recipes for cake and how to modify them for "Gluten Free" and "Vegan" dietary needs.
Overall, the experience was enriching and tasteful. My sincere thanks to Cindy Sue Tomes at Cupcakes on Main for affording me the experience.
