The Colorado State Forest State Park offers many alpine lakes, streams and hiking trails between 9,000 and 12,900 feet MSL. Wildlife is abundant, including an estimated 4,000 moose in the park. It is a worthwhile alternative to the overcrowded summers at Rocky Mountain National Park.
